The good story of the rescue of the Danish Jews has long ago been taken over by films. And new productions are still being made. It makes a good story to tell of Denmark that lit up in the dark, of heroic deeds, individual fates and demonstrations of fellow feeling. In the world of film the story only gains in the telling. Focus is on the flight, but the story is so much longer than the flight itself for those who had to flee from the roundup in October 1943.
