DAL - The Second Literary History

20/05/25

Project

The Andes Literary history

In the DAL project, we focus on Jewish authors from the 1800th century and the beginning of the 1900th century, who today are largely forgotten in Danish literary history - even though their works have helped shape modern Denmark.

The project is carried out in collaboration with the Danish Jewish Museum, associate professor Søren Blak Hjortshøj, the Department of Culture and Linguistics at the University of Southern Denmark, and the University Library of Southern Denmark in Odense.

Over the next three years, we will disseminate this overlooked literature through a book publication, a thematic traveling exhibition, and a series of lectures around the country.

The project is being carried out in collaboration with the Danish Jewish Museum, the University of Southern Denmark and the University Library of Southern Denmark. The project has received support from the Danish Agency for Palaces and Culture's special fund for information on Jewish life and culture in Denmark 2022-2025.

The project runs from 2025 - 2028
