About the teaching process
What consequences did Nazism have for Danish Jews during World War II? And how does the Danish Jewish Museum tell stories about these consequences?
These are the overarching questions that students explore in the course “Big Politics and Personal Consequences.” The course is based on the students' physical and sensory experiences of the museum's architecture and atmosphere.
In groups, students delve into the stories of selected museum objects. Objects that unfold personal stories about people on the run. The students share knowledge about the objects with each other, and together they connect the central concepts from the objects' stories and the students' own experiences of the museum space.
The course supports the primary school's purpose statement and the areas of competence in history use and source work in history.

Get behind the glass
Podcast series Behind the Glass allows the listener to get closer to the museum's objects, their origins, meaning and hidden details.
The series is based on objects from the exhibition “Flight and Persecution in the 20th Century.” Here, museum curators Signe Bergman Larsen and Sara Fredfeldt Stadager delve into the human, historical and ethical perspectives that the objects represent.
The podcast can be used as preparation for the teaching process or can be listened to afterwards, giving students the opportunity to revisit and delve into the material at their own pace.
